ABOUT JACKSON

Jackson Hollingsworth is a freelance book editor, creative writer, and musical theater librettist. You can sometimes find his writing under the pen name Jackson Adler. His editing services include: Manuscript Critique, Full Developmental Book Edit, Line Edit, and Beta and Sensitivity Reading.

He has received editing and other training from the Editorial Freelancers Association (EFA) and ACES: The Society for Editing.

Jackson received a BA in Theatre from the University of California, San Diego. He applies his training and work experience as both a dramaturge and theatre-maker to his editing work. The role of a dramaturge when a new play is in development functions similarly to developmental editor’s in the book world.

Jackson’s training in screenwriting and playwrighting ensures he understands the power of visual description and dialogue. His background as a stage, screen, and voice actor contributes to his detailed understanding of character voice and characterization.

Jackson has experience writing, editing, and proofreading for social justice blogs and organizations, such as Bitch Flicks, Burning Spear media, and Uhuru Solidarity Movement.

Jackson takes authors’ work, skills, and rights seriously. All contracts include non-disclosure agreements, assuring clients that their work is safe and secure throughout the editing process.
